August 2023 - Present

Collections Intern
Masonic Library and Museum of Indiana

Collections intern for the Masonic Library and Museum of Indiana as part of the Museum Studies curriculum. Duties and projects include:

  • Cataloguing objects by entering them into PastPerfect and labelling them using various methods.

  • Ran the museum alone every other Saturday which included opening and closing duties and giving tours to any incoming groups.

  • Creating exhibits.

    • ​One smaller case exhibit I designed and installed start to finish on Myths and Misinformation surrounding Freemasonry.

    • One large exhibit taking up a 20 ft. area of wall space on the DeMolay organization.

Worked for Dr. Holly-Cusack McVeigh in the Museum Studies Department on a variety of projects:

  • Teachers Assistant for Indigenous Cultural Heritage (ANTH A507) - Fall 2023

    • Included assisting Dr. Cusack-McVeigh with gathering content for class, making copies, taking attendance, setting up classroom technology, and occasionally facilitating the class.

  • Assistant for Collections Care and Management (MSTD A516) - Fall 2023

    • Taught and facilitated object labelling lab

    • Assisted in the teaching and facilitating of a box making lab.

  • Co-Authored a Paper/Poster on Silica Exposure in Museums for the 2024 International Society of Environmental Epidemiology Conference – Currently in Progress

January 2023 - Present

Intern

Indiana Medical History Museum

As part of CEA duties, I interned at the Indiana Medical History Museum and assisted with a Health Hazards Project. This included:

  • Cataloguing and researching the chemical collection to search for potential hazards. This included photographing, condition reporting, and entering data into Past Perfect. Worked with a team on this project, which included sole responsibility for the Photography room along with another CEA.

  • Assisted the director in the installation of a large exhibit at the Indiana State Library.

  • Created and installed a small exhibit in two cases to replace the items on temporary loan.

  • Giving 1-hour tours to groups of up to 10.
